Our hunting grounds – Großglocknerjagd Gipper & Guttalalpe
The Großglockner Hunt Gipper- & Guttalalpe covers an impressive 550 hectares of alpine hunting area, located in the heart of the Hohe Tauern mountains, high above Heiligenblut am Großglockner. With altitudes ranging from 1,600 to just over 3,000 meters, our hunting grounds offer an incomparable variety of landscapes – from lush alpine meadows and dense mountain forests to rugged rock formations and clear mountain lakes.

Our hunting grounds have been leased by our family since the 1960s, and hunting has been a central part of my life since my childhood, when I was Elija Brandstätter. This long-standing connection to nature and the alpine cultural landscape continues to shape our work today and ensures that every hunting experience with us is unique.

The wildlife on the Gipper and Guttalalpe is impressive: in addition to marmots and chamois, which are the focus of our hunts, there are also roe deer and red deer, as well as ibex, golden eagles, bearded vultures, alpine and snow hares, and many other rare animals. Marmot hunting is possible from August 1 to October 15, and chamois hunting from August 1 to December 31. We usually conduct stalking hunts, and every hunt is exclusively guided—this way, we guarantee a safe, unforgettable experience in the alpine wilderness.

The flora of the hunting ground is as diverse as its fauna. From edelweiss and alpine rose meadows to mountain forests and high alpine pastures, the terrain offers not only hunting but also a unique nature experience. Its location between the Glockner and Goldberg mountain ranges in particular makes the hunting ground a hotspot for nature observation and alpine adventure.

There are several traditional alpine huts available in the lower part of the Gipperalpe. Please note that these accommodations must be booked directly with the respective owners, as they are not arranged through Großglocknerjagd.
Our claim is clear: every hunting experience is unique – supported by impressive nature and individual guidance in the alpine hunting ground.
